Vista Pinot Noir 2017 - Raymond Chan

Updated: Jul 5, 2020

Full, dark, deep, black-hued red colour, a little lighter on the rim with slight garnet hues. The nose is concentrated with intense and deep aromas of ripe dark-red berry and savoury plum fruit, with notes of liquorice, dark herbs, and subtle nutty oak and game elements.

Full-bodied, the palate has fulsome and mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark-red and black berry and plum fruit entwined with notes of liquorice, savoury herbs, oak and game. The fruit has richness and juiciness with plenty of presence, and is supported by plenty of grainy tannin extraction providing structure and grip. Soft, lacy acidity provides energy and the palate is underlined by a little alcoholic power which carries the wine to a tight finish.

This is a fulsome, mouthfilling and sweetly ripe black-berried and plum fruited Pinot Noir with liquorice and dark herb notes on a well-structured palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 4-5 years.

Equal portions of clones 667 and 115, from vines planted in 2009, destemmed and fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 25% new oak. 17.5/20 Jun 2018
